The new series is called HazMat Hotties and will feature 704 and DOT style placards with each of the works of art done along with a name for each character. I am in the process of finishing up a few paintings but couldn’t wait to kickoff the new series.  So with that said, I decided to make the first one a hand drawn, digitally colored piece I finished this weekend. My wife decided on the name because it reminded her of someone she knows.

As far as what the colors and numbers mean, I will be posting a little HazMat Hottie Guide that explains it…so stay tuned! Don’t forget to check out the Fire Medic Art Fan Page to keep up with new postings and sketches of HMH in the works.

The Maltese Cross in this painting is depicted as steel symbolizing the unity and strength of the Fire Department when we focus as one. We have to keep in mind that steel is not impenetrable and we have to strive to keep one step ahead and continue to work together through training and learning from our past.

The Angels signed Albert Pujols and CJ Wilson the other day to make the A.L. West a little more interesting. Many people in Ranger Nation feel that Nolan Ryan and Jon Daniels need to hit the Panic Button and get Prince Fielder to offset what the Angels did. Being a lifelong Ranger fan, I am not one of those ready to hit the Panic Button. I still think overall the Rangers have a better everyday lineup and are still the team to beat. Would it be nice to have Fielder? Yes, but not at a cost that hurts locking up our present lineup to long term contracts. Just my 2 cents….

A little bit of a different style, trying to get the time drawn down faster, so that what I draw hits before anything changes…

American League West is adding the Houston Astros to their league in 2013. I am looking forward to them joining and think it will make for some good baseball. I just couldn’t resist…but before I receive Astros fan hate mail, please know, I have always rooted for the Astros to do good. Except, of course, when they’re playing the Rangers.  I guess you could call it a Texas thing.
